Here's a look into five years of service and diplomacy with PHIMUN.

PHIMUN 2018

With the theme Promoting International Cooperation in the Universal and Inclusive Realization of the Sustainable Development Goals of 2030, the first-ever PHIMUN conference received over 400 sign-ups and 150 delegates. PHIMUN 2018 took place at the University of the Philippines, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Campus from June 8 to 10, 2018. 

Keynote speakers such as EU Ambassador Franz Jessen, Atty. Grace Pulido-Tan, and Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo discussed the conference theme and its relevance to the Philippines in the present context. The conference held committee sessions for the UN Security Council, General Assembly, Human Rights Council, and UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). 

PHIMUN 2019

With the theme Building Stronger Institutions In Pursuit of Peace and Justice, PHIMUN 2019 highlighted the worldwide fight against the attacks on democratic institutions. The conference gathered over one hundred delegates at the University of the Philippines Diliman from June 14 to 16, 2019. 

The delegates, a mix of high school and university students, cultivated their diplomatic skills through the committee sessions of the UN Security Council, Human Rights Council, and UN Women. True to the theme of the year, PHIMUN 2019 also simulated trials in the International Criminal Court⁠—the first in the country. 

PHIMUN 2023

With the theme Ensuring Holistic Human Security for Future Generations, PHIMUN 2023 sought to illuminate the modern, systemic, and cross-cultural challenges faced by the youth across the globe. The conference gathered around two hundred delegates at the University of the Philippines Diliman and on Zoom from July 7-9.

There was a total of six committees for the 2023 installment of PHIMUN. Onsite delegates took part in the UN General Assembly, UN Security Council, UN Framework Convention for Climate Change, and the International Court of Justice. Online delegates also convened as part of the International Monetary Fund-World Bank and of the UN Children's Fund.

PHIMUN 2024

With the theme Mobilizing Global Citizenship Towards a Future of Global Stability, PHIMUN 2024 called for the youth to take action against crises actively happening all over the world. In  pursuit of global cooperation, this three-day conference convened on July 12 to 14, 2024 at the University of the Philippines Diliman, having garnered roughly 200 delegates.

In line with its theme, PHIMUN assembled 5 committees: UN General Assembly, Economic and Social Council, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Security Council, and the International Court of Justice.

PHIMUN 2025

Celebrating five years of service and diplomacy, PHIMUN 2025 convened under the theme CreatingProgressive and Diplomatic Synergies Amid Dire Global Crises. From June 20 to 22, 2025, over 200 participants gathered at UP Diliman to join rigorous discussions addressing pressing international concerns.

Throughout the conference, delegates engaged across six United Nations councils, including the UN General Assembly 1 (Disarmament and International Security), the Commission on the Status of Women, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and a Crisis Committee on Decolonization, among others.

Committed to fostering informed political discourse and meaningful dialogue, PHIMUN 2025 welcomed distinguished figures from the political and diplomatic sphere. Among them were MUN-UPD alumna Kabataan Partylist Representative Atty. Renee Co and H.E. Mounir Y.K. Anastas, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Philippines, whose insights enriched the delegates’ understanding of contemporary global issues.
